'This Is My Family': Eurovision Pride campaign celebrates LGBTQIA+ families across Europe

13 June 2025
Three smiling people pose together outdoors in front of greenery and water, while a smartphone on a tripod records them. The person on the left has short teal hair, glasses, and wears a black sheer shirt with sunflower-print pants. The middle person has short hair, glasses, and wears floral-striped overalls over a white top. The person on the right has bright purple hair and wears a black jacket with colorful pins, a black shirt, and rainbow-striped pants. All three appear happy and relaxed in a natural setting.

Public service media across Europe have today launched ‘This Is My Family – A Eurovision Pride Campaign’, a bold and joyful celebration of LGBTQIA+ families and the many forms love and belonging can take.

Led by Belgian broadcaster VRT and co-created by the EBU’s Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) community, the initiative brings together EBU Members in a shared digital campaign timed to mark Pride 2025. At its heart is a simple, powerful message: every family deserves visibility.

Today, the campaign launches with the release of a co-produced video, composed of authentic stories submitted by participating broadcasters. These short portraits highlight queer family experiences across generations, cultures, and borders.

“Family is not a given, especially for people of LGBTQIA+ communities. As public service media we have a unique role in reflecting the diversity of our societies, supporting and welcoming all. This campaign shows that we’re even stronger together.” said Nadia Hanssens, Diversity & Inclusion Advisor, VRT.

“’This Is My Family” sets out to go beyond stereotypes and showcase the richness of LGBTQIA+ family life, from chosen families and co-parenting networks to blended households and intergenerational support systems.”

Using a low-cost, high-impact model, the campaign empowers broadcasters to use short, platform-native video stories across TikTok, Instagram, YouTube Shorts and more. The result is a vibrant, multi-lingual mosaic of queer lives and loves, rooted in local realities, but shared with a pan-European audience.

“Public service media have the power to shape more inclusive societies by making space for all voices. ‘This Is My Family’ is a powerful reminder of our shared commitment to inclusion, collaboration, and amplifying narratives that reflect real life,” said Jean Philip De Tender, Director Media and Deputy Director General, EBU.

“We’re proud to support a campaign that not only celebrates LGBTQIA+ communities but also reflects the best of what public service media can do together in telling powerful, authentic stories that represent the audiences we serve.”

Follow the campaign now on social platforms and share your own ‘This Is My Family’ content using #ThisIsMyFamily, #EurovisionPride and #PSM4All.
