Join us for an inspiring session exploring how organizations are rethinking workplace culture, recruitment, and leadership. From a multi-year transformation project at Radio Bremen, to inclusive recruitment strategies at RTÉ, and international research into adaptive organizational cultures in PSM, this session brings together three forward-thinking perspectives.
Radio Bremen’s ‘New Work’ Project: Rethinking Work Through Trust and Participation
Brigitta Nickelsen, Head of People and Culture and Member of the Managing Board at Radio Bremen, will present the story behind their New ('Smart') Work project - winner of Germany’s HR Excellence Award 2024, category 'Future of Work'.
Over a period of three and a half years, Radio Bremen redefined how work happens, guided by a strategic framework from leadership and shaped by active input from employees. Brigitta will highlight how teams, journalists and administration, co-created changes such as meeting-free Fridays or cross-functional project planning: ideas born from within and now embedded in daily practice.
This session offers a real-world example of what the future of work can look like when leadership and staff collaborate to build a more effective, flexible, and human-centered organization.
Inclusive Talent for Inclusive Media: A New Approach to Recruitment
In this session, Zbyszek Zalinski, Head of Diversity and Inclusion, RTÉ, will explore the inclusive mindset as a core competency for the future of work — one that can be identified, nurtured, and even measured across recruitment processes at all levels, from early-career roles to senior leadership.
In public service media, where trust, representation, and relevance are non-negotiable, inclusion can become central to how we define potential and leadership. Drawing on practical examples, he will share how inclusive mindset indicators can be embedded into real-world recruitment.
Zbyszek will also reflect on what this shift means for public service organizations seeking to build teams that are not only highly skilled, but also truly future-fit. The session will offer practical insight and invite discussion on how to make inclusion a measurable and lasting part of our organizational DNA.
Organizational Culture in PSM: Lessons from Innovation Clusters
Michał Głowacki, Deputy Dean for Research and International Collaboration, University of Warsaw, will present key findings from a four-year international study on the internal organizational cultures of PSM, titled “Organizational Culture of Public Service Media: People, Values and Processes.”
Based on insights from ten successful high-tech clusters across North America and Europe, the session explores how people, values, and processes shape adaptive, future-ready workplaces. It highlights what public media can learn from agile, entrepreneurial ecosystems—where collaboration, trust, flexibility, and community-building are essential to staying relevant in times of rapid change.
The session is open to all.
