Eurovision Young Musicians: Celebrating Europe’s Brightest Young Classical Talents

Eurovision Young Musicians (EYM) is a classical music competition that has been spotlighting Europe’s most promising young instrumentalists since 1982.

Co-produced by EBU Members, the event gives outstanding talents aged 12–21 the chance to perform on an international stage and launch their musical careers.

Past laureates include Julian Rachlin, Natalie Clein and Eivind Holtsmark Ringstad.

The 2024 edition took place in Bodø, Norway, on 17 August, hosted by NRK in partnership with the EBU.
Eleven young musicians competed live at the Stormen Concert Hall, with Leonhard Baumgartner (Austria, violin) winning the title for his interpretation of Vieuxtemps’ Violin Concerto No. 5.

A New Framework from 2026

Starting in 2026, EYM will follow a renewed contract model focused on sustainability and long-term planning.

Key changes include a two-year broadcaster commitment cycle, inflation-based fee indexation, an improved fallback hosting rule, and enhanced rights management.
These updates aim to improve predictability and coordination across future editions.
