Martina Flašíková has officially taken up the position of Director General of Slovak Television and Radio (STVR).

She was formally appointed by the Minister of Culture of the Slovak Republic, Martina Šimkovičová, during a ceremony held at the STVR creative centre Arténa.

Martina assumes leadership of the public broadcaster during a period of significant change in Slovakia’s public service media landscape. In a short speech, she expressed her gratitude for the trust placed in her and stressed the need to uphold trustworthiness, professionalism, and the cultural value of STVR in the eyes of the public.

“My goal is to achieve the cultural vision I presented in my project – to continue stable broadcasting, expand programming with new formats which will represent STVR in a dignified manner, and to work towards becoming a more respected media institution on the Slovak market,” she said.
