05 June 2025
A new International Relations Expert Group has been appointed during the International Relations Plenary held in Bucharest, Romania (27–28 May). Comprising representatives from public service media across Europe, the group reflects the growing importance of collaboration and international engagement within the EBU community.
Adéla Kalibová was appointed Chair. She is joined by Aleksandar Kumanov, Ana Blažević, Julia Wellershaus, and Mustafa Sarıtaş as Vice-Chairs. This new group succeeds the International Relations Radio Group.
The group brings together international relations professionals from corporate, television, radio, and digital departments to share expertise and strengthen cross-border cooperation. Its mission is to support public service media by fostering strategic partnerships and contributing to advocacy efforts aimed at safeguarding media freedom and long-term sustainability. It also serves as a platform to enhance dialogue between the EBU and our Members, while supporting the role of EBU ambassadors within their respective organizations.
The Plenary gathered 68 participants from 38 organizations across 25 countries. Hosted by TVR, the two-day event offered a dynamic programme focused on strategy, advocacy, transformation, and international collaboration.
