The European Broadcasting Union (EBU) has extended its long-standing partnership with Eurosport and TNT Sports for coverage of the IBU Biathlon World Cup and World Championships across the next four seasons.

Beginning with the 2026/27 season, the agreement covers 44 European markets*, with Eurosport and TNT Sports acquiring exclusive World Cup rights in 34 territories**.

Live coverage of every IBU World Cup and World Championships event will be available on Eurosport across Europe and TNT Sports in the UK and Ireland, with all events also streamed live and on-demand on HBO Max. The agreement includes the next three editions of the IBU World Championships – Otepää, Estonia in 2027; Hochfilzen, Austria in 2028; and Oslo, Norway in 2029.

The agreement sits alongside extensive coverage from EBU Members in key biathlon markets, ensuring audiences across Europe can follow the sport throughout the season. These broadcasters include ORF (Austria), SRG SSR (Switzerland), ČT (Czechia), ARD and ZDF (Germany), TV 2 (Denmark), ERR (Estonia), Yle (Finland), LTV (Latvia), NRK and TV 2 (Norway), TVP (Poland), SVT (Sweden), RTV Slovenija (Slovenia), STVR (Slovakia) and Suspilne (Ukraine), who will provide coverage in their respective territories, alongside extended programming from French broadcaster L’Équipe.

Additional coverage will be available via the EBU’s free-to-air streaming platform Eurovision Sport, including in territories where Eurosport and TNT Sports hold exclusive rights.

The EBU, Eurosport and TNT Sports have a long-standing relationship across major international sport, collaborating on coverage of events including World and European Athletics Championships, the Tour de France, Tour de France Femme and La Vuelta, UCI World Championships, UEC European Championships, as well as biathlon. Their partnership also extends to the Olympic Games, with the organizations jointly holding media rights in Europe through 2032.

The EBU and IBU recently extended their exclusive media rights and production partnership through the end of the 2033/34 season, taking a relationship that began in 1993 into its fifth decade.

The 2026/27 biathlon season began with the Loop One Festival in Munich from 17–18 October, with the World Cup getting under way in Kontiolahti, Finland, from 26 November. The season will feature events across Europe before the IBU World Championships in Otepää, Estonia, from 10–21 February 2027, and conclude with the World Cup Final in Oslo Holmenkollen, Norway, from 18–21 March 2027.

The EBU works with international sports federations and its Members to ensure major sporting events reach the widest possible audiences across Europe. Its long-term partnership with the IBU forms a key part of the EBU’s winter sports portfolio and its commitment to bringing audiences year-round coverage of the sports and athletes they will see compete at the Olympic Winter Games.

* The agreement excludes the Nordics, Poland and Russia. Warner Bros.
