Dražen Miočić appointed Director General of HRT

The Croatian Parliament appointed Dražen Miočić as the new Director General of Croatian Radiotelevision (HRT) on 21 October 2026. He will serve a five-year term from 2026 to 2031.

Miočić has worked at HRT since 1994, gaining extensive experience in journalism, editorial management and broadcasting operations.

He began his career as a journalist and reporter. From 2004 to 2008, he worked as a journalist, reporter and editor at HTV, coordinated HRT’s role in Croatia’s NATO accession, and reported from Afghanistan and Kosovo. From 2008 to 2011, he served as HRT's correspondent in The Hague, reporting on proceedings at the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia. He later served as Acting Editor-in-Chief of HTV's News Program and as Acting Director of HRT's Program Division.

Key priorities outlined in his programme include opening up more opportunities for external and independent production companies, expanding content diversity and strengthening HRT's public service role in providing information, education and entertainment. Miočić's programme also emphasizes technological adaptation and digital transformation, maintaining financial stability, responsible management of resources and greater attention to working culture.
