Euroradio Jazz Orchestra

Every other year, the EBU Jazz Producers put together a European jazz big band under the name of the Euroradio Jazz Orchestra (EJO), a project that can trace its roots back to 1965. Each EBU Member may send one musician under age 30 to perform in public with the EJO, with two Euroradio Public Jazz Concerts organized by the host broadcaster. At least one concert is always recorded by the EBU host broadcaster, who is responsible for the rehearsals as well as its logistical and promotional planning.

The Euroradio Jazz Orchestra celebrated its 60th birthday in 2025, taking place from 7 to 14 May in Ljubljana, kindly hosted by RTV Slovenija. Conducted by Matjaž Mikuletič, the ensemble performed on 12 May at the Cukrarna in Ljubljana (Jazz Ars All Stars) and on 13 May at the Kontesa Jazz Club in Zagreb.

Where to listen?

• The 12 May concert, in Ljubljana, is available for catch-up on RTV Slovenia Ars Program, Latvian Radio 3 Klasika, LRT Klasika and Radio România Muzical. It will also be broadcast on ERR (Estonia, 20 May 2025), Yle (19 June 2025), Polish Radio (16 May 2025), BNR, RÚV and SRF (Switzerland).
• The video stream of the 13 May concert in Zagreb is available on Croatian Radio’s Facebook page HRT – HR 1.
