Concert Evaluation Initiative

The Concert Evaluation Initiative brings together Sound Engineers from EBU radio organizations and with a classical music background, invited to evaluate a selection of concert recordings chosen from the Music Exchange. Each recording organization then receives a summary of these evaluations accompanied by constructive feedback. It is a space where sound engineers help each other in developing their approaches to live concert broadcasting. The long-term goal is to review several classical music concerts from every organization that contributes to the Music Exchange.

Since February 2019, the initiative has created a Sound Engineers community of more than 60 people and provided detailed peer-to-peer concert recording reports to more than 40 organizations. One of the consequences of these reports is that, depending on their results, specific organizations might now be automatically invited to engage with the Sound Engineers Scheme.
