Navigating New Accessibility Regulations

As we prepare to implement the European Accessibility Act (EAA), which will take effect on 28 June 2025, it is crucial to understand the implications of this new directive. The EAA aims to enhance the accessibility of products and services for disabled people.

We will be hosting a one-hour webinar where our EBU Legal and Policy team colleagues will provide an update on the latest EU accessibility directives and their impact on members' accessibility responsibilities.

Additionally, Yle will share their insights from a member's perspective on preparing for the new Act, both at the company-wide level and within operations.

Ofcom, the British media regulator, will present its revised best practice guidelines for ensuring the quality of access services on television. For the first time, these guidelines will also address accessibility for video-on-demand services, along with new audience research findings.
