TECH 3397 provides an overview and a set of application examples of the EBU’s ontology “EBUCorePlus”. This version 2 is a major revision of version 1 (from May 2024).
TECH 3397 v2 also replaces Tech3293 “EBU Core Metadata set" and TECH 3351 “EBU Class Conceptional Data Model (CCDM)”. Note: This version is not backward compatible.
The media industry that media organizations operate in is a complicated space filled with movies, shows, music, TV channels, social media, streaming platforms, recommendations, royalty collection, geo-blocking and more. This is where this ontology steps in, helping to make sense of and organize everything.

EBUCorePlus is also an open source project hosted on GitHub. This is open to anyone to file issues or request changes in accordance with GitHub processes.
