FREE - AI, Ethics & Public Media - New research explores how media professionals at the BBC navigate Responsible AI guidelines in their day-to-day work
Overview
From EBU Academy in collaboration with the AI Media Observatory, we invite you to the fifth of a series of free sessions on AI, Ethics and Public Media.
In this session, Dr Bronwyn Jones, University of Edinburgh & Responsible Innovation Centre, BBC R&D and Anna Schjøtt-Hansen, University of Amsterdam, will share insights from research & experience at the BBC and discuss how the ideal of following outlined Responsible AI principles is often hard to realise ‘on the ground’.
Bronwyn and Anna have studied how people try to actively deliver on the principles that outline responsible AI practices, but also what challenges them in doing so (e.g., having the right knowledge or power). They will address the principles-to-practices gap that often characterises AI work and argue that such principles increasingly need to be ‘grounded’ in the daily experiences of those who take part in AI development.
Following a presentation and a short discussion with the moderator, we will open the floor for your questions.
What you will learn
