Eurovision News Young Journalists Exchange Programme
Eurovision News Young Journalists Exchange Programme
Overview
The Eurovision News Young Journalists Exchange Programme aims to provide hands-on learning and inspiration for those working in Public Service Media newsrooms who are under 30.
Run in collaboration with EBU Academy, this is a chance for young journalists to spend a week in the newsroom of another EBU Member to learn how they work and what they do.
This is not a passive experience; you’ll be an active part of your host’s news team during your stay - doing as well as learning - and they’ll also benefit from your ideas and skillsets.
We plan the next Exchanges to be held from September to December 2025.
PLEASE NOTE: WE ARE CURRENTLY INVITING ONLY HOST NEWSROOMS TO ENROLL TO THE PROGRAMME.
This allows us to help give placements to young journalists on our waiting list.
Enrolment for young journalists will resume in the future. Please check back for updates.
What a visiting journalist can expect to learn:
- Different ways of working day to day.
- New systems and tools.
- How common journalistic challenges are being met in another country.
- New ideas and inspirations.
How a host newsroom can benefit:
- New outlooks, experiences and skillsets for the newsroom.
- An opportunity to receive feedback.
- A chance to reflect on how you work.
- New ideas and inspirations.
Important:
If you are selected as one of our visiting young journalists, your organization is responsible for paying for your accommodation, travel and any other expenses. These are not covered by hosting EBU Members. You must have the approval of your line manager before you apply.
There are limited places available for exchanges, so please accept our apologies in advance if you are not selected in this round. We would encourage you to reapply for future rounds. Offers of host newsrooms will be kept on file for future months.
