A European Perspective welcomes BNT

The A European Perspective (AEP) family continues to grow: it has recently welcomed Bulgarian national broadcaster, BNT. BNT joins as the 21st participating members of AEP’s Digital News Platform. 

This week BNT contributed its first news reports to AEP, including a story on Bulgaria's condemnation by the European Court of Human Rights for police brutality during the July 2020 anti-government protests, which have already been republished by AEP members from as far afield as Georgia (by broadcaster GPB), Lithuania (by LRT) and Latvia (LSM). At the same time, stories from AEP’s Digital News Platform are now available to audiences in Bulgaria on BNT’s website in a dedicated AEP box.  

Launched in 2021, AEP’s online exchange for reliable news breaks down language barriers and gives news organizations access to news stories from around Europe which they then republish in their own language with the help of AI. So far this year almost 8,000 stories (averaging 54 contributions per day) have already been contributed to the platform – resulting in over 11,000 publications by participating members and close to two million reads.
