5G has the potential to greatly facilitate and possibly even revolutionize media content production. For the past 2 years, the EBU has been working with other partners in the 5G-RECORDS project to understand better how 5G can be exploited for professional media applications.
5G-RECORDS is an EU-funded project that explores possibilities brought to the 5G ecosystem in media, by new components and technologies. The main objective has been to integrate them into three use cases and evaluate their performance in the context of professional content production environments, namely in:
- Live audio production
- Multiple cameras wireless studio
- Live immersive content production
As 5G-RECORDS comes to an end, this webinar rounds up the challenges, achievements and learnings surrounding these use cases, in order for the broadcasting industry to learn about the capabilities of 5G networks for professional media production.
