As described in more detail in the previous article from this series on Digital Scheduling, we can still see a variety of approaches in linear/digital -first commissioning. Some European Broadcasters are commissioning all content for their player, with linear scheduling as an afterthought. Others are commissioning all fiction in a (what we call) “double hit” strategy; commissioning drama series for both linear- and non-linear release. Some broadcasters vary and tailor their strategy to the target audience of the content. And there are still broadcasters commissioning (part of their slate) primarily for linear release.
